Sourcing and Procurement Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify sourcing needs and develop procurement strategies that align with the organization’s goals and budget.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and assess their suitability based on quality, price, and delivery times.
  • Negotiate favourable terms, contracts, and pricing with suppliers to optimize cost savings while maintaining product/service quality.
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including issuing purchase orders, tracking orders, monitoring delivery schedules, and resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering open communication and addressing any concerns or performance-related matters.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant teams to ensure stock availability meets demand without excessive overstock.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements that could impact sourcing and procurement strategies.
  • Implement and improve procurement policies, procedures, and systems to enhance overall efficiency and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to manage budgets, track spending, and provide regular reports on procurement activities.
  • Participate in supplier performance evaluations, identifying areas for improvement and working with suppliers to address them.

Qualifications:

  • Qualification in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A relevant professional certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Sourcing and Procurement Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, trends, and market insights.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools to streamline processes.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence outcomes in a positive manner.
  • Problem-solving attitude with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of ethical sourcing and sustainability practices is a plus.
