The Counter Sales Person is responsible for providing prompt, efficient, and professional service to customers at the sales counter. This role includes assisting customers with product selection, preparing accurate quotations and orders, processing sales transactions, and maintaining product knowledge to support customer needs. The Counter Sales Person ensures excellent customer service, maintains stock awareness, and complies with all company sales procedures, safety policies, and operational standards while delivering timely and effective service
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist walk-in customers and workshop staff at the parts counter in a professional manner.
- Identify customer needs and recommend the correct parts or accessories for trucks, equipment, machinery, or power tools.
- Accurately identify and source parts using OEM catalogues, digital databases, and technical documentation.
- Process sales and orders accurately using the company inventory management system.
- Prepare quotations for all brands, and issue invoices and receipts, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded.
- Handle parts returns by inspecting returned items, preparing credit notes, and obtaining management approval prior to processing.
- Maintain an organised, clean, and well-stocked parts counter and storeroom.
- Liaise with internal departments and the service team to ensure parts availability for ongoing and scheduled jobs.
- Respond to customer enquiries via in-person, phone, email, or WhatsApp, providing prompt and professional assistance.
- Track orders and manage back-orders, ensuring customers are kept updated on delivery status.
- Monitor stock levels, identify slow-moving or obsolete items, and recommend reordering or promotional actions.
- Uphold company standards for customer service, health and safety, and operational efficiency at all times.
- Apply technical knowledge of equipment, machinery, and spare parts to support accurate service delivery.
- Interpret part numbers, diagrams, and catalogues to ensure correct item selection.
- Ensure accuracy, attention to detail, and proper use of inventory and quotation systems.

- Proven experience in a retail, counter sales, or customer service role preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail, prioritising tasks and managing multiple requests
- Communicate effectively in English; Maltese considered an asset
- Collaborate as a team player with a proactive and responsible attitude
