The Company is seeking to recruit a Lab Assistant to support its Quality Assurance function. The selected candidate will assist in the preparation, testing, and reporting of construction materials, ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures.
Main Purpose of the Role
- Assist in day-to-day laboratory testing functions
- Maintain the integrity of product information and records
- Apply best practices and technical knowledge in all assigned tasks
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare samples and carry out prescribed tests on aggregates, concrete, and asphalt
- Record results accurately and prepare test reports and data sheets
- Report on the non-conformance of materials to the Quality Assurance Manager and assist in corrective actions
- Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration when required
- Ensure the laboratory area is kept safe, organized, and compliant with company safety policies
- Provide support to site supervisors and respond to client requirements in a professional manner
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager
Candidate Profile
- Strong communication skills in Maltese and English, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure with minimal supervision
- Integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times
- Computer literacy and familiarity with standard applications
- Flexibility to work irregular hours when required
- Valid driving license
Reporting Lines The role reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager and requires collaboration with Quarry Manager, Land Surveyors, Site Supervisors, Lab Technicians, and other employees.
