The Steel Fixer is responsible for cutting, bending, and fixing steel reinforcement bars and mesh in concrete formwork for structural elements such as foundations, columns, beams, and slabs. This role requires precision, adherence to Maltese construction standards, and compliance with OHSA regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Cut, bend, and shape steel reinforcement according to specifications.
• Position and secure rebar using tie wire, spacers, and chairs to maintain correct cover.
• Coordinate with shuttering teams to ensure reinforcement fits within formwork.
• Install couplers, stirrups, and other reinforcement accessories.
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and tolerances.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with OHSA guidelines.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Steel Fixer on construction projects.
• Knowledge of Maltese OHSA safety standards.
• Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
