Ready to Lead – We are Hiring a Special Projects Team Leader

Job Introduction 

UNEC Limited is seeking a highly motivated Special Projects Team Leader to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of specialised projects across multiple sites. The role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively while meeting contract requirements, client specifications, and project deadlines. 

• Lead and coordinate special projects, including major projects, market expansions, operational improvements, and cross-functional initiatives. 

• Work closely with Project Managers and provide hands-on support when required to ensure project activities and deliverables are completed within agreed timelines. 

• Take ownership and accountability for project outcomes and make timely, independent decisions when immediate action is required. 

• Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, manufacturers, and brand representatives to ensure smooth project execution and compliance with company and brand standards. 

• Monitor project resources, budgets, timelines, risks, and overall progress. 

• Analyse business requirements and market developments across warehousing, material handling, earth moving, marine, and power generation sectors. 

• Support the development and implementation of strategies that promote innovation, operational efficiency, competitive advantage, and sustainable growth. 

• Apply knowledge of BOQs, POWs, AutoCAD, and project management systems in the planning and execution of projects. 

• Prepare regular project progress reports and executive summaries for senior management and relevant stakeholders. 

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive initiatives aimed at improving operational and project efficiency. 

• Represent UNEC at industry events, meetings, and networking opportunities where required. 

• Maintain a high level of flexibility and availability, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required by project demands. 

Qualifications & Experience 

• Proven experience in project management, project coordination, team leadership, or a similar senior role, preferably within equipment, heavy machinery, engineering, or industrial solutions. 

• Knowledge of warehousing, material handling, earth moving, marine, or power generation equipment is highly desirable. 

• Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. 

• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 

• Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. 

• Strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and accountability for assigned projects and deliverables. 

• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make timely decisions without requiring constant direction. 

• Ability to work effectively across different departments and lead cross-functional teams. 

• Knowledge of BOQ, POW, AutoCAD, and project management systems will be considered an asset. 

• Relevant qualifications in Business Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field are preferred.
